The Secret to Teaching

Im so impressed…

My sister just told me that she is planning on showing her students the movie The Secreton their last two days of class this year. (My sister teaches English in an Isreali high school.)

She said that it is “her gift to them”. That instead of waiting till they’re 40 to learn these things, she wants them to hear it now.

I have to say, I was really suprised when she told me. I already knew she was an amazing teacher (most of her students agree) but still, I was so moved that she was taking this iniative.

Most teachers focus on teaching children WHAT to think, when the real gift a teacher can give to their student is teaching them HOW to think.
