Yoko Ono Lennon: Think Peace, Act Peace, Spread Peace (Video)

Published yesterday on ImaginePeace.com

December 8, 2007

I miss you, John. 27 years later, I still wish I could turn back the clock to the Summer of 1980. I remember everything - sharing our morning coffee, walking in the park together on a beautiful day, and seeing your hand stretched to mine - holding it, reassuring me that I shouldn’t worry about anything because our life was good.

I had no idea that life was about to teach me the toughest lesson of all. I learned the intense pain of losing a loved one suddenly, without warning, and without having the time for a final hug and the chance to say, “I love you,” for the last time. The pain and shock of that sudden loss is with me every moment of every day. When I touched John’s side of our bed on the night of December 8th, 1980, I realized that it was still warm. That moment has haunted me for the past 27 years - and will stay with me forever.

Even harder for me is watching what was taken away from our beautiful boy, Sean.
He lives in silent anger over not having his Dad, whom he loved so much, around to share his life with. I know we are not alone. Our pain is one shared by many other families who are suffering as the victims of senseless violence. This pain has to stop.

Let’s not waste the lives of those we have lost. Let’s, together, make the world a place of love and joy and not a place of fear and anger. This day of John’s passing has become more and more important for so many people around the world as the day to remember his message of Peace and Love and to do what each of us can to work on healing this planet we cherish.

Let’s: Think Peace, Act Peace, and Spread Peace. John worked for it all his life.
He said, “there’s no problem, only solutions.” Remember, we are all together.
We can do it, we must. I love you!

Yoko Ono Lennon

In honor of John Lennon and his important message to our world, please take a few minutes to view this video below.

The people in this video are YOU. They are a part of us and we are a part of them. We were fighting for our rights, we were inspired to make a change and we were passionate about doing what we could to spread the message of love.

If we could do it then, we could do it now…

And there has never been a more important time in human history to remember this.

“Think Peace, Act Peace, and Spread Peace.”

People of Israel: Remember Who You Are (Video)

Somewhere along the way we have forgotten who we really are and what it is that we really want.

I made this short video in hope of helping us all remember before it’s too late.

Before commenting, please keep in mind:

I am a Jew was born into the Jewish religion and I am Israeli. I am proud of certain things that this religion and country represent and yet, believe it or not, I am also aware of the fact that 1) We are not always right and 2) Others are not always wrong.

Having said that, while I respect everone’s opinion and will always allow freedom of speech on this blog, I will not tolerate comments that promote hate and/or racism.

All I ask is that we respect each other.

Thank you.

Is Someone Trying To Tell Me Something?

November 5th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Law Of Attraction, Music, Random Thoughts

I woke up this morning thanking the Universe “for the upcoming day, for the new opportunities that will open up for me, for the people that will cross my path and the coincidences or synchronicity of events that will help me to find my true purpose and higher Self.“  (It’s something new I decided to try…)

A couple of hours later, an old friend I used to work with suddenly IM’d me asking me how I was doing and what I have been up to lately.

I told him a quick overview of my situation, which right now consists basically of the fact that I recently returned from a very inspirational journey to India and that I am focusing on my writing, browsing new income options and slowly trying to find my place back on track in the “real” world.

“Yeah, but what about singing?” he asked. “Are you singing??”

I was surprised by his question:

A) because I was surprised that he remembered how much I love singing and that he actually cared whether I was doing it or not
and B) because it was one of the things that had often crossed my mind (and my path) when I was in India.

First of all, I had been faced with certain social situations on the trip where I was challenged to overcome my shyness and so-called “stage fright” in order to enjoy the situations to their fullest. For example:

  • performing a Hebrew song for the beautiful Muslim family that hosted us on their houseboat in Kashmir (they insisted I sing!)
  • Me and the family

  • or singing English songs with little kids at an elementary school my husband and I went to volunteer at in Rishikesh
  • Us and the adorable kids

  • or learning to let go and sing freely in my room even after realizing that the accoustics in the guesthouse we were staying at were horrible and that everybody could hear everybody whether we liked it or not. This, by the way, I learned on my first day there after innocently singing to myself in my room only to have one of the guests who was staying one floor below me tell me I have a really nice voice…
  • My friend and neighbor, Asaf. (Asaf, I miss you!!)

So not only was I challenged to face my fears but even more intense was the sudden deep calling I started feeling to somehow combine my love of singing with my spiritual path. I just wasnt sure what that meant… And it was very “convenient” for me to simply forget all about it, especially when I returned home.

That is, until my old friend asked me the million dollar question above and I was instantly sucked back into pondering the whole thing again. The only answer that seemed to come out was “Not yet, but I will.”

So that was that.

Later this evening, I went to try a Kundalini Yoga class for the first time in my life. The class was pretty interesting (though I don’t have much to compare it to) but what caught my attention most was a certain song that the teacher played at the end of the lesson. It was a mantra, a sort of prayer that repeated itself over and over, sung by a woman with a beautiful and angelic voice. Something about her instantly caught my attention and I was intrigued to find out who she was or what her name was. It also got me thinking once again about using singing as a form of getting spiritual messages across. I contemplated asking the teacher the name of the singer but for some reason, I just picked up my stuff and left, humming the song in my head.

Again, more “convenient”.

And back to my computer I went, only to find a random forwarded mail, waiting in my inbox. It read the following:

Recommended website: A singer who is all light and love.. Music for the soul: http://www.snatamkaur.com/web10.html

I had the honor of discovering the singer Snatam Kaur earlier this week. She really is a channel of purity that connects to higher dimensions.

I clicked the link, and to my shock and delight, the song that started playing on her homepage was… you guessed it… the same exact song I had just heard at the class… the same angelic voice.

I was floored.

I was inspired.

And after reading about her life, I was even more inspired.

So anyway, I don’t know what to do with all this yet.

But I guess I can start by thanking the Universe for the upcomimg day, for the new opportunities that will open up for me, for the people that will cross my path and the coincidences or synchronicity of events that will help me to find my true purpose and higher Self.

(Inspired by Cat Steven’s “A is for Allah”… see video below:)

Be Here Now

I am currently working on learning to finally ’step out’ of my thoughts and realize the underlining of simple ‘being’.

The best person to learn more about this from would be Eckhart Tolle (he has some really interesting lectureson that available on video.) He also wrote the book The Power of Now.

Transcending your thoughts really is the next (and maybe final?) stage of evolution. And the more you learn to transcend your thoughts, the more you are in the moment of just ‘being’. The more often you are completely in the moment of just ‘being’, the more you start understanding what that even means.

In other words, we can either take what I just said and start analyzing it to death (till death) or we can move into the next stages of human consiousness.

It’s up to you.

“Be Here Now” Lyrics
Artist: George Harrison

Remember, Now, Be Here Now
As it’s not like it was before.
The past, was, Be Here Now
As it’s not like it was before - it was

Why try to live a life,
that isn’t real,
no how
A mind, that wants to wander,
’round a corner,
is an un-wise mind

Now, Is, Be Here Now
and it’s not what it was before,
Remember, Now, Be Here Now
as it’s not like it was before - it was

Look Mom, No Hands! - LMAO

The Secret Life of Plants - A Hidden Stevie Wonder Treasure

May 29th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in Books, Environment, Music

I recently cam across a beautiful song written and performed by the legend Stevie Wonder called “The Secret Life of Plants.” It is taken from the soundrack to the 1979 movie “Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants“, which was based on the famous 1973 book.

As Wikipedia describes:

Published in 1973, The Secret Life of Plantswas written by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird. It is described as “A fascinating account of the physical, emotional, and spiritual relations between plants and man.”

Essentially, the subject of the book is the idea that plants may be sentient, despite their lack of a nervous system. This sentience is observed primarily through changes in the plant’s conductivity, as through a polygraph, as pioneered by Cleve Backster. The book also contains a summary of Goethe’s theory of plant metamorphosis.

With that being said, this book is about much more than just plants, and delves quite deeply into such topics as the aura, psychophysics, orgone, radionics, kirlian photography, magnetism / magnetotropism, bioelectrics, dowsing, and the history of science.

It was the basis for the 1979 documentary of the same name featuring the Stevie Wonder soundtrack Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants. The film made heavy use of time-lapse photography (where you can see plants grow in a few seconds, creepers reaching out to other plants and tugging on them, mushrooms and flowers popping open, etc.), certainly in order to portray them as animate beings. When the film was released, such images were novelty to the general public.

Though I have yet to get my hands on the movie, I did come across what is supposedly the end of the movie where Stevie Wonder performs this song. Though the quality of the clip is pretty low, the music, as all of his songs, is simply beautiful.

The Secret Life of Plants - Lyrics:

I can’t conceive the nucleus of all
Begins inside a tiny seed
And what we think as insignificant
Provides the purest air we breathe

But who am I to doubt or question the inevitable being
For these are but a few discoveries
We find inside the Secret Life of Plants

A species smaller than the eye can see
Or larger than most living things
And yet we take from it without consent
Our shelter, food, habilment

But who am I to doubt or question the inevitable being
For these are but a few discoveries
We find inside the Secret Life of Plants

But far too many give them in return
A stomp, cut, drown, or burn
As is they’re nothing
But if you ask yourself where would you be
Without them you will find you would not

And some believe antennas are their leaves
That spans beyond our galaxy
They’ve been, they are and probably will be
Who are the mediocrity

But who am I to doubt or question the inevitable being
For these are but a few discoveries
We find inside the Secret Life of Plants
For these are but a few discoveries
We find inside the Secret Life of Plants

Jerusalem Hug - Pics and Video Footage - May 21, 2007

Jerusalem Hug - Pics and Video Footage - May 21, 2007

Last Monday afternoon, what seemed like thousands of people gathered in one big hug of love around the Old City of Jerusalem.

Most of the day, starting from around 12 noon, people of all religions, all “types”, young and old (I’m talking from infants to some incredibly adorable elders who appeared to be in their 80’s or even 90’s), gathered on the luscious, green lawn of Hutzot Hayotzer in preparation for the historic event. Those hours of preparation proved to be no less mystical and significant than the “Hug” itself. It was sort of like Woodstock all over again (only minus the hundreds of thousands of people and the hallucinative drugs).

These people didn’t need the drugs. Some of them were on that “natural, spiritual high” that you hear so much about and can only dream of one day reaching: true ecstasy from a higher level of consciousness - while all the rest were simply high on life. Most of the hours were spent making music, singing, dancing, meditating, practicing capoeira, laughing, smiling and just plain and simple “being”. Oh, and there was hugging. Lots and lots of spontaneous hugging everywhere I looked.

Love was truly in the air. And so was peace, enlightenment and a true and passionate hope for a better world.

Of course, the police were all prepared for the event and were circling the area with weapons in hand. But they, too, were occasionally caught smiling to themselves, observing the serene moment, only to catch themselves in time and keep “doing their jobs”.

At around 5:00 pm, we all set out to circle the Old City, following the beats of the drums which led us, and gathering curious pedestrians along the way. Im not going to get into the Hug itself because no words can describe the sensation you get when you suddenly find yourself One with the people around you, One with the ancient historic walls, One with the world, One with the Universe… One with God. You just simply cannot describe that kind of silence.

We are one humanity on this planet.
All life is interconnected and interdependent.
All share in the Universal bond of love.
Love begins with self acceptance and forgiveness.
With tolerance and compassion we embrace diversity.
Together we make a difference through love.
Be a part of it. Spread the word.

Sing it Anyway

April 23rd, 2007 | 2 Comments | Posted in Music, Spreading The Love

Martina McBride’s live performance of “Anyway” on American Idol left me stunned, inspired and bawling my eyes out like a 6-year-old girl with pigtails. Not only were the lyrics so powerful and so intense, but that was nothing compared to the flawless way that she delivered them.

Perfect voice, stage presence… a true diva.

“Anyway” Lyrics:

You can spend your whole life building
Something from nothin’
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream
That seems so out of reach
And you know it might never come your way
Dream it anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray
It doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
I do it anyway

This world’s gone crazy
It’s hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away
Love ‘em anyway

God is great
But sometimes life ain’t good
And when I pray
It doesn’t always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
I do it anyway

You can pour your soul out singing
A song you believe in
That tomorrow they’ll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yea - sing it anyway

I sing
I dream
I love
Anyway
