How to Live Greener Without Really Trying
Not all of us can throw our bodies in front of tractors that are about to cut down trees or walk around naked in a protest against fur… And you know what? That’s okay! Not all of us have to!
But its pretty naive to assume that if you cant join in on the bigger causes then any other effort is worthless. Ironically enough, getting more people to make smaller changes in their lifestyle can ultimately have a much bigger impact on the planet than joining in on the current minority of “tree hugging fanatics” as I have heard them been called.
Having said that, I am currently working on a new blog called Green Your Day which I hope will focus exactly on this: on the small, seemingly insignificant things we can all start doing TODAY for greener living.
Think of it as “The Lazy Person’s Guide to Greener Living”. Ideal for all those out there who think: “Yeah, but what could I possibly do about it?”
So anyway, check it out as I get this blog rolling and even more importantly: If you have any easy and/or fun environmental tips which you think might be a match for the site, please send them to me at livinginmyownworld@gmail.com and I promise you will get the credit you deserve.
Once again, thanks for helping me change the world one post at a time…
Random Blog Post Causes Stir in Israeli Media
The other day I posted an article about the animal cruelty that took place on the premiere episode of “Survivor: Israel”.
The next day I was shocked and appalled that nowhere in the news headlines did anyone mention the abuse that took place on the show. Even animal rights groups seemed to have let it pass by quietly.
So in an effort to let out my frustration (and not necessarily receive a reply), I contacted Ynet, a major news website in Israel, with a link to my post. The letter read the following:
Hi,
I was wondering why this issue was completely ignored in the Israeli media:
(link to my original post)
Maybe you have some answers…
Thanks,
Shira
Within minutes I was contacted by a reporter from Ynet who asked to interview me about the issue and said that she would contact animal rights groups and Channel 10 (the channel that aired the show) for an official reaction.
Next thing I knew, this article was published on the homepage of Ynet, stating that the animal rights group “Anonymous” was filing a police complaint against Channel 10 and the article even linked to my original post!
Their article drew in over 150 comments, finally raising awareness to the mistreatment that had taken place on the show.
While some comments were negative as expected, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people felt exactly the way I did about the issue and had supported the cause.

My point is that sometimes we feel that we are only one person, and “how much of a difference can one person make…”
The answer, as I have just learned from my own personal experience, is that the change really does begin in each and every one of us, and that the least any of us can do… IS TRY.
The Write Way to Advertise
I love it when bloggers get creative!
Part-Time Blogger came up with a cool new idea to advertise your blog on a new website that’s sort of like the Million Dollar Homepage but with a human touch:
The website is called WriteAdvert.com with the slogan ‘Its the Write Way to Advertise.’
The concept is simple: you write your advert down on paper, take a photo of it and email it to me to be approved & published. There are 100 125×125 pixel ads available on the homepage for each calender month. Advertising is Free for November and December, when the month expires all ads will be moved to the monthly archives and kept on the site.
Get out the paper and crayons and grab this creative opportunity to bring more traffic to your blog. I already sent in my ads for Living In My Own World and ChangePerPost (see if you can find them!) and I have to admit I had a whole lot of fun the 60 seconds it took me to create the two ads.. Made me feel like a kid again!
Collectively Changing the World One Post at a Time
I’ve been planning on doing something like this for a while, and finally - here it is!
Introducing the launch of a new site I started for bloggers and their readers called ChangePerPost.com.
What it’s about:
ChangePerPost gathers recent blog posts from bloggers around the world on topics that encourage personal, social, spiritual, environmental and global change - and offers a place where we can all spread our messages collectively.
Here’s the deal:
Millions of boggers out there are writing posts every day about important issues that affect our life, our planet and humanity itself.
I recently noticed many bloggers, including myself, who claim they are trying to make a difference in this world “one post at a time”, and yet they often wonder “how much of a difference can one blogger really make?”
Well the truth is that every blogger out there is making a difference, whether to an audience of thousands or to one random stranger who just happens to come upon their post just as he or she needs to hear it most.
This new website was born out of 3 main purposes for both bloggers and their readers:
- To help readers discover new and inspirational blogs out there and help them to get an overall view of all the latest published blog posts from around the world.
- To offer a place where bloggers can promote their blogs and posts in an environment more fit for these types of subjects and to help attract more traffic to their blogs.
- To open our eyes and raise our awareness to new ideas and information which have the power to change our lives and our world as we know it. In other words: To raise our global awareness and consciousness one post at a time.
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. And that, after all, is where the real magic lies.
We are all in this together and together, we can make a difference.

I Won the Domain Name Contest!
Last week I blogged about the exclusive expired domain name list giveaway hosted by DNXpert.com.
Next thing I knew, I received a mail telling me I’m one of the 5 lucky winners! Woohoo!
As promised I received a list of 200 awesome (most of them, anyway) and available domain names as well as a $10 deposit to my paypal account so I can make the first purchase free.
Ironically, I received this mail on the same day that I found myself involved in some very exhausting conversations with my family, passionately trying to explain to them my dream of making money from home, from blogging, from writing, from the internet.. from doing the things I love - only to get blank stares (”you mean you’re not gonna work your butt off from some stuffy office doing something you hate? But that’s life!” - paraphrased, of course.)
But I stuck with my story and my passion, and little did I know that a new online money-making opportunity was just sitting in my inbox waiting for me to come home. That’s the law of attraction right there.
So thanks to DNXpert for the list (I got my hands on quite a few of those domains :)) and thanks for keeping the “dream” alive!
I guess the only question left for a first time domainer is: Now what?
Some of the domains I might use for new personal sites but the others are just aching to be bought… If anyone out there has any tips or suggested places to sell them, let me know?
Thanks!
5 Exclusive Expired Domain Lists to 5 Lucky People
Anyone looking for new online money-making opportunities might be interested in this…
The nice blogger on DNXpert.com has decided to giveaway an exclusive list of 200 expired domains to five lucky people. This contest appeals to me (and I’m sure to many others) because it could give someone the opportunity to register some very valuable domains (we all know how hard it is to find a decent domain name these days), as well as learn a thing or two about domaining - a very hot opportunity today for making money online.
I have decided to give 5 lucky people an exclusive list of 200 expired domains each. I will not post these lists anywhere else, nor will I send them to my subscribers. The winners will get a first and only bite at these names.
In addition, each winner will get $10 in their paypal from me so that they can register at least one of those expired domains.
On December 10th 2007, I will draw the 5 lucky winners, and announce them here. I will also email the winners their lists.
All you need to do to get in the game is write a post about the giveaway and leave a comment on his blog indicating where you wrote about it.
What can I say; it’s an ingenious way for him to get backlinks to his blog and who knows: you might get a chance to earn some extra abundance opportunities…

Google Analytics Predicts Where Human Consciousness is Going
The Google Analytics statistics for this blog have been playing a really interesting role in my recent ‘enlightenment’ process.
As most know, the popular Google tool has a feature that shows you what information (or keywords) readers around the world were searching for when they happened to run across your website in the search engine results.
So because this blog has been focusing more and more on spirituality lately (as my own understandings unfold), it is starting to draw in readers who are searching for similar information. Of course, it doesnt always mean the information they are seeking is answered by my website (the most obvious example for that would be the large number of people who accidently end up on my site because they were looking for the lyrics to a song called “Living in My Own World”).
But what it DOES do is give me a close, personal, inside look at ‘topics of interest’ that people like myself have been researching lately on the web.
And I can tell you this: the different keywords that have been showing up on my statistics lately really start to paint a clear picture that something.. SOMETHING is happening to our collective consciousness - much of which I myself have yet to understand.
Here are some examples of real keywords that people have been looking for:
Crystal and Indigo Children and Adults:
More and more people lately have been searching for information about Crystal and Indigo children and adults. Some search terms I noticed include becoming a crystal child, spirit realms indigo, “crystal children” fear and crystal adults manifesting thoughts. (If you still don’t know what Crystal and Indigo children are, read this and this.)
Dimensions:
Wow, so just when you thought you are starting to get the whole crystal thing down, you start to see people searching for information such as crystal links living in fourth dimension.
Fourth dimension, you ask? Yes, the word ‘dimension’ has been very popular amongst you Google soul-searchers; your searches have included phrases such as ascension to 5th dimension 2007, living in 5th dimension energy, adjusting to 6th dimensional consciousness, gates to other dimensions and my personal favorite, the one that intrigued me most: spiritual fifth dimension new world order - june 2007 (Pardon my ignorance, but is something supposed to be happening this month???)
Chakras:
You’ve all probably heard of chakras by now, but the questions that people have been asking have been putting the term ‘chakras’ in a whole new light for me. First of all, a very common phrase appearing in searches has been sure signs that your chakras are activated… Ok, are my chakras supposed to be ‘activated’? Because I never really thought about it and yet people out there are looking for ’sure signs’…
One person searched for the phrase slowing time down chakras metaphysical (slowing down time?) while another odd phrase I noticed read energy chakras electrical problems blowing light (apparently somebody’s chakras seem to be causing electrical problems…)
Angels:
Do angels really exist? Ask your fellow surfers; The have been searching for information about the following: living human angels, archangel ariel channeling 21 june 2007 and one man’s plea: earth angels spread your light frequencies to the world.
Personal Spiritual Growth:
Wake up: you are not the only one “waking up”. Questioning your spiritual growth is actually perfectly “normal” these days. General common search terms made by people like yourself have included signs of intuitive awareness, becoming aware of my own consciousness, signs of spirit contact, signs of spiritual changing and one surfer’s bottom-line-lets-get-down-to-it question: is there a spiritual awakening happening in the world today.
Well, what do you think?
*********
Sidenote: To those of you who have searched these above terms and have not found the information you were looking for on my site, I apologize. But having said that, we are obviously all in on this journey together (we’re each just doing it at our own pace) so I, too, look forward to uncovering these answers (and sharing them) as they come.
